Dixie Care and Share Needs Your Help

Dixie Care and Share in St. George Utah is struggling to keep it's doors open... They are in desperate need of cash donations... All other donations are accepted too... Many falsely believe that Dixie Care and Share is funded by the government... That is far from the truth... They are supported by the good people in Washington County... Their donations have decreased because of the economy I am sure... Can you imagine if everyone would donate just $10.00 to Dixie Care and Share... For every $1.00 received they can provide approximatly $9.00-$10.00 dollars worth of services... That is less than the cost of a meal at a fast food restaurant... Everyone can make a difference... You can drop off donations at 131 N. 300 West, Saint George, UT 84770... There is a little red brick house in the front, just go there and tell them you want to make a donation... It doesn't have to be a big one, anything will help... If something isn't done soon, Dixie Care and Share will be forced to close it's doors... And as a member of this community, that would be a sad day for all...
Right now there is a family of 5 that is living at Dixie Care and Share and it would be horrible to know that this girl that I have known since she was a little girl, her husband and three children will be on the streets... If it wasn't for Dixie Care and Share, that's where they would be right now... Dixie Care and Share makes sure that they have breakfast in the mornings, sack lunch, and a hot meal at night time... They also have warm clean beds to sleep in...

A sample month of people served in the shelter were 128, that equals 127 nights...  They also provide showers for those who are on the streets and that was approximately 128. The number of meals served to the shelter residents were 3647 meals in the month of July alone... The pantry that serves people on a daily basis for the month of July was 15,183 clients and that is 5 days a week from 10:30-3pm M-F and this is for St. George and Hurricane... Food boxes for St. George and Hurricane in total 706 families that were served... They also offer milk vouches, clothing vouchers, diapers...

Here are some of the services that Dixie Care and Share offers: I can't even imagine what many would do if these services weren't available... They will give you a tour of the facilities if you ask them too... They do so much for the people who can't help themselves... This is information that is posted under the info page on Dixie Care and Shares Facebook Page... There is also a place on their homepage where you can donate...

To Dixie Care and Share:

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every one of you. You have taken a bad part of my life and turned it into joyful memories. Because of Dixie Care and Share, I was able to get an apartment and furnish it. I have gone from homeless to renting my own apartment. Your staff is just amazing with the professional, kind and courteous way you all helped me. You really lived up to your name, Care and Share. I thank every one of you.

Sincerely Thomas N.
