The Inauguration of Barack Obama

I am sure there is alot of things going through peoples minds about the inauguration and Barack Obama. Some of the things I am thinking on is:

1. Are our troops going to come home?
2. The economy and employment
3. I think it is awesome that Rick Warren and other religious leaders is going to be there and praying over our country. We should all pray for the leaders of our country, no matter what party they belong to.
4. I wonder how difficult things are going to be before they get better.
5. I gets me how so many are concerned with what Michelle is going to wear,lol. Hummm not sure if that's a first priority.
6. I think it is cool how we are making history. I was in my pastors office the other day. And he had a poster up that had all the pictures of the presidents. Obama was on there and I couldn't help but think about how far this country has come.
7. I think about the atheists who are trying to block God from the inauguration. I already got into that once, so I won't again.
8. I wonder about the security and how ugly that car is that they have to drive around in. Although it is safe they say, lol. But you know something, the Titanic sank. So I hope they have a backup plan.
9. I hope that eventually the bailouts stop and that people and companies can stand and will stand on their own.
10. I pray that Obama makes the right choices to the best of his ability and that God blesses everyone.
11.I should add, that I am glad to hear that he is going to adopt a rescue dog rather then one from a pet shop...
12. I am really glad the elections are over and we as a country and get on about our business.

ok... The Election Is Over- Obama Wins

I watched all the happenings of tonights election. I think it is awesome to see that Obama won the elcetion. What I found interesting is one of the guys commentaries. He was stating how it use to be when your child would say what they wanted to be when they grow up. They would state they would want to be a Dr or Lawyer or something else and would even include being a President. And the parents, because they are black would tell thier kids that they should look at something else. I think it is cool because a message was sent to the world that no matter who you are or what color your skin is, that you can be anything you want to be.

I was also impressed with McCains speech. He was stating how we as a nation need to come together and support our president and he showed alot of respect. I do think that any Republican no matter who is is, would have a hard time considering the last 8 yrs. I do feel bad for him because of that. I usually split my vote and I know myself, I wanted something different. I want someone that isn't on the same mindset. And granted McCain isn't Bush, but there are simular thoughts. But all in all I am pretty happy and if anyone who reads this is a McCain supporter, I am sorry that McCain lost, but in the same sense, I am happy. If that makes any sense at all. I am now wondering what the future holds and in what direction we will go and how long it will take till things get better.

Hmmmmm, Who Will Win Tongiht?

I am glad that tonight is the elections. I just hope there isn't any stupid things that happen in Florida to make us wait and have to hear more. I am sure that Obama is going to win... How do I know this? Well, I just know,lol. But I think that no matter who wins, it is going to be a rough time for them. He/He or He/She will have a hard time trying to clean up the mess that Bush is leaving behind.

I was reading a message that was posted on Myspace from DJ Lex and I have to agree with what he had to say. I think that each state should have it where they are split according to what percentage of votes they get. He was stating how here in Utah thier are 5 electoral votes. If it is 60% for McCain, then McCain should get 40 % of the Electoral Votes and Obama the 40%. That makes complete sense to me... But then when does politics make alot of sense. I don't see some of the issues they think are important, as being important.

I will be watching the elections tonight and am soooooooooooo ready for someone new. I know who I want and that would be Obama. I just can't deal with 4 yrs of McCains wife. Its like she is above anyone else. I am sure that McCain would do a good job. And on that note, I think that any Republican would have a hard time this year considering how bad the last 8 yrs has been. My husband Chuck was looking at who the worse President in History was, and all of them stated that Bush was by over 70 %. Wow, thats a lot of people who don't agree with Bush... But what can I say, his reign is almost over and we are onto something new. I am ready for that.

With living in Utah and it being a Republican state, I have heard alot of people who claim they are voting the moral choice, and yet they live immoral. I don't see how they think McCain is the moral choice. Now granted Palin is Christian, but should that be the deciding factor is someones capabilities? I think not, but then again, who am I to say... So I am going to close on this for today and I am sure that I will write more on this either tonight or tommorrow.

I do hope that everyone gets out to vote... Even if it isn't for the one I want, vote... This election is going to make history no matter who wins...

Sign Stealing-Killing Bears- Give Me A Break

What in the world are people thinking. In this election people are going nuts. I am all for a good debate. But when it comes to stealing other peoples property, shooting bears and hanging signs around the next that belongs to the Obama team. It isn't just Obama, but McCain as well. That is just sick and wrong.

I can't wait for this election to get over. I live in a primarily Republican State. I am what I would consider more of an Independent but voting Democrat. I don't vote for the party. I vote for the person. This year has gone completely nuts. Tonight when I heard about the bear cub being shot in North Carolina. That is horrible that someone would do such a thing. What did that little cub do to anyone. I wonder if it was more racists geared then anything.

Everyone has their own reason for voting for the person they are voting for. I don't think someone should go and intimidate or belittle someone because they don't vote the way the majority does. This is a free country, we from what the constitution says have rights. Even though there are times I really wonder what we have or don't have. I think they lead us to believe we have more rights and choices, and then we get a rude wake up call. But we aren't a third world country. We are America for heavens sake.

In our local news, we have had many things about people stealing signs, writing horrible things on them and being extremely racist. I am sure this happens all over. What gets me, this is a very religious area that claims to follow Jesus... I don't think I would see Jesus out there doing the kind of garbage some of these idiots are doing.

I say, vote for who you feel is right and who you think would lead this country into the right direction. Don't let someone bully you or push you. This is ridiculous and low.

Tonights Debate

Ok, well, I just got done watching the debate. I haven't changed my mind at all. I do have to admit that John McCain did a better job then usually. But he didn't seem to make me think he was out to help me. Maybe he is out to help Joe the Plumber, but that may be about it... The normal everyday person with alot of bills and middle class. He made me think he was attacking Obama a lot more and that he wanted to be on the offensive rather then defend himself.

I don't particularly like that approach. I want to know the issues that pertain to me and my kids and grandkids. I don't want to hear any of this he said/she said garbage. The only thing I did think he did right was seperate himself from Bush. Well kinda! And he is right, he isn't Bush. He is McCain... But other then that they are almost the same. They voted the same on many issues and have the same mind set. I think with Obama, he was good at bringing the issues back to the table and he answered all the questions and didn't get all flubbed up. I did pick up and thought it was off the wall. When they asked both Obama and McCain about the VP's. I was impressed that Obama didn't go out of his way to bash Sarah Palin. He was respectful to her, but not McCain... He was more interested in being negative to Biden and kept stating about how Sarah would be one for Autism and getting funding. That is all fine and dandy. I am all for finding cures for things like Autism and such. But what about all the other things and diseases? I don't trust her at all with all the ethic things going on with her and her history. I think people are wanting her because of her moral issues. Which I am all for... But she seems to have a double standard when it comes to her ethics and those around her. There are two different rules, Her Rules and What pertains to everyone else... She is exempt from those same rules...

But this is my take on the debate tonight. I don't think it was a changer of any sorts. I don't think people will change thier minds at all. I just think it is what it is... It was 2 hours of the same stuff, different day...

Half Truths

I was just reading about how Palin claimed that Obama is paling around with terrorists. They have found this to be false.

This is a statement from CNN's site:

Beginning in 1995, Ayers and Obama worked with the non-profit Chicago Annenberg Challenge on a huge school improvement project. The Annenberg Challenge was for cities to compete for $50 million grants to improve public education. Ayers fought to bring the grant to Chicago, and Obama was recruited onto the board. Also from 1999 through 2001 both were board members on the Woods Fund, a charitable foundation that gave money to various causes, including the Trinity United Church that Obama attended and Northwestern University Law Schools' Children and Family Justice Center, where Dohrn worked.

CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything inappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.

The extent of Obama's relationship with Ayers came up during the Democratic presidential primaries earlier this year, and Obama explained it by saying, "This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood … the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago — when I was 8 years old — somehow reflects on me and my values doesn't make much sense."

It gets me how on both sides, the candidates say some of the truth, but with thier own spin on it. I am sure both sides are guilty of this. I can see why politicians can't be trusted. But who is the lesser of the two evils. Well, by now you all know who I am going for. I like Palin as a person, I think atleast. Never really met the woman... But I just don't see her as President. And any logical person has to think about the idea that McCain may die before his term is up should he win. I live in Utah, which is primarily Republican. But I have noticed how there is alot of skepticism from even the die hard Republicans. I am not die hard Democrate. But this year I am going to vote Dem. Usually I spilt my vote... But NO WAYYYYYYYY will I do it this year. There is no way I want to have another 4 yrs of this same garbage.

It gets me how there are so many rumors around about Obama. I don't know if it is because of his name or what. Most of what I hear is how he is Muslim, which is false. He is Christian. Others say how he refuses to put his hand over his heart. Which at the event that this was taken at, he did not. What I wonder is what was really going on. And I have seen him in other events putting his hand over his heart.
There are sites out there that will inform people if it is false or not... Here are a few links for those who don't want to take the time to check out the lies... As you will see there are half-truths all over the place.. Which is the worse of the lie? Who knows...

P.S Even if you don't agree with my views, and that is ok.. It is important for everyone to go out and vote and vote for who you believe will best serve this country and the people of this country...

Ughhhh, Politics and Palin

I must say that I don't mind politics, but the whole palin thing is driving me crazy. I just wonder how McCain claimed that Obama is trying to be a star and how they were comparing him to Paris and Britney. Ughhhhh, give me a break. Palin is all over the news and I'm not sure it is such a good thing. Palin is getting more press then Obama. Although it isn't like it is all good stuff. And the whole thing about how those that are surrounding the investigation are refusing to obey the subpeonas. When I heard this I couldn't help but wonder what they were covering. And if they are wanting what is in the best interest of the country. Don't you think that we need to have less drama and focus on healing the economy and the war. I also don't get the who hoopla over her glasses.

I would like to hear more about Biden. But then because there isn't any bad press, there might not be much to show. I want to hear what his views are and more about him and less about Palin. But maybe it is because he doesn't look like a star is the reason why he isn't on the cover of People Magazine or any other celebrity magazine.

But, what can ya do? We aren't the candidates, but we are the ones voting for them. The one thing you can do is vote. And think about who and what you will be voting for when you cast your vote.

On a different note: My satallite for my internet isn't working right now. Something is getting in the way of the signal and they are working on it. I just hope they figure it out soon.

To Vote Or Not To Vote?

Wow, what a loaded question that is right now with all the interesting things going on. For the most part people have made up thier minds who they want to vote for and for thier own reasons. What I wonder is those who choose not to vote at all.

I have a friend that grumbles about everything under the sun when it comes to the way the country is going and that if things don't change, then he is moving to Canada. My thoughts are though is...If you want change or you believe in something, you need to get involved. Even if it is voting. Some will say that thier vote doesn't count. But it does. Everyone has only one vote. All of those votes add up to millions and the new leader of our country. If you don't vote and get involved, you shouldn't complain about who got in or not in.

Also when this election is all said and done. We will have a new Commander in Chief and it is going to be a struggle no matter who wins. But we all need to pray for our leaders and whomever gets in. We will need to mend and heal. Vote with your heart and brain and pray about it. God is still in control. We just want to think we are, lol.

Somethings just get my mind a wondering...

I am sitting here reading about Sarah Palin and while I agree that I think it is great that her daughter isn't even thinking about abortion. What gets me is how the Republicans went out of thier way when Bill Clinton had his issues with Monica Lewinski?? on spelling. But that was and should be something that a husband and wife handles together. It had nothing to do with his job and things went on. Except there were people that wanted to form a political linch mob.

As I said, I think it is good that Gov Palins daughter isn't having an abortion. But why is it that they are applauding her for having sex outside of marriage and having a baby at 17. If I recall the media was going crazy over the whole Jamie Lynn Spears thing. They said all kinds of hateful things and yet many are behind this young girl that is pregnant and her mom is running for Vice President. I personally feel that if she can't keep her family in order how in the world is she gonna run a country if something should happen to McCain.

In support of the 17 yr old. I do think it is good what she has chosen to do in the wake of her getting pregnant and that she is getting married. I wonder though if they are getting married because it is better in the wake of the mom running for vice president. I also applaud Obama when he stated that there should be no bashing of this young girl because he was a son of a young mother who chose to keep him at the age of 18. She was 17 when she was pregnant with Obama.

My main thought though is why is there double standards for some. If you are a Demoocrat it isn't ok to do something wrong. But if you are a Republican and choose the right path even when you did something wrong, it is ok and off limits. Hummm. I don't think there should be double standards and I am very pleased she is being responsible now and keeping the baby.

Something else I must add... I know you all are wondering what is up with this blogger, lol. But I think back to when I was 17 yrs old. I got pregnant and had my daughter Jessica when I was just three weeks into my 18th yr. I never regreted it. I have no room to judge anyone. But it was hard and I had to grow up fast. I think that parents need to be more responsible and make sure thier kids know what is going to happen. And granted you can't watch them all the time and they are gonna make mistakes. There are many that will choose the wrong course when they have an unwanted pregnancy. I'm very blessed that I didn't even consider or intertained that idea.

Wow, McCain Surprised Me

I posted on my blog the other day just how undecided I was and this has made up my mind. I don't know much about Biden, but what the heck is Palin all about. I wonder if he was thinking or some kind of demetia set in. I'm sure she is a nice lady, but what about if he dies,? Which is a good possiblity at his age. She doesn't have the experience needed to run the good ole USA. I am a woman and would love to see a woman in the White House, but give me a break. Make it someone who has some qualifications for Petes sake.

She is a family person and I wonder with her kids so young if there was an emergency, what would she do. I'm sure she is a wonderful Governor as well. But lets get real. Living in Alaska and running a country in the face of the war that is going on and with all the things going on with the economy. Just how prepared is she in reality. Hummm, makes me wonder.

I was also at my Drs today and was reading the Time magazine and was surprised by some of the things that Pastors wrote about both McCain and Obama. They were discussing how most Christians will vote Republican, but if they actually looked at each canidate they would see that really Obama is more of what the Evangelicals would want compared to McCain. I'm going to have to read more on that one too. I don't think any of us that live in the USA can afford to leave let his election pass with all the events of the last 8 years.

Time to Decide Who to Vote For...

Ok, well, now I am not too sure what I am going to do when it comes to voting for president. I know for sure there is NOOO WAY I would vote for McCain... Too much of the same stuff different day things. Plus it drove me nuts when I lived in Phoenix and for two years it seemed like all we seen in the newspaper was stuff about his wife. Ughhhhhh can't handle 4 yrs of that.

Was and probably will vote for Obama, but then not happy that Clinton isn't chosen. I guess I will have to research this Biden guy a bit and see what he is all about. My daughter told me tonight that she might not vote because she doesn't like either. But is that really the answer? I don't think that is a responsible answer. I beleive if someone doesn't vote, then they have no room to complain about things when they go wrong. But I guess all in all I have no choice. I don't want to throw my vote away. So I guess I am off to the internet library we call space and see what the scoop is on Biden.

I would like to add a small note though... It drives me nuts when they talk about politics at church and try to input thier ideas as to who you should vote for.
