I posted this topic the other day and blogspot had problems and deleted it... This is like the second time this post of sorts has gotten lost or something... Wonder if someone is saying something, Hmmm....
I was thinking a while ago about this topic and how people in certain situations should be able to have the right to die... I'm not saying in cases where they are depressed or things are going bad... I am saying when the person is terminal and there is no chance for recovery, no quality of life or in a vegetative state... To me living that way is in no way living and I would prefer someone to pull the plug and get it over with... If I was left on a machine like that and there was a way to come back and haunt the person who refused, I would find a way...
There is a show that I like to watch called Big Love... In the series finale it showed where Frank and Lois made a pac to put an end her suffering... She had dementia and asked him to help her die with dignity and when she couldn't remember anything or who people were, he would help her out... They were laying together in the bed and he gave her some medicines through a shot and she drifted off with no fan fare... He layed there and was talking to her as she passed away... I think everyone in those kind of situations should get to do that...
I would think that would be a better option than getting in your car and driving off a cliff and hoping that you died and you didn't have to live with the consequences... It would be my luck that I would do that or try to shoot myself and would have to live with it... And how some states are, you could get arrested... Hmmm, not sure that is a good thing either... I think there are only a few states that allow Dr. Assisted Suicide... I think that is a bad word when a Dr. helps... But who am I to say?
According to Wikipedia:
Physician-assisted suicide in the United States is legal in the states of Oregon, Montana and Washington. The process is set forth in law, including the requirements that the patient must be of sound mind when requesting assisted suicide, as confirmed by a doctor and other witnesses; and the patient must be diagnosed with a terminal illness.
The Oregon Death with Dignity Act, and the Washington statute modeled after it, set certain requirements and safeguards before a person may commit suicide with a doctor's assistance. The patient must be of sound mind when they request a prescription for a lethal dose of medication. Two doctors must confirm a diagnosis of terminal illness with no more than six months to live. Two witnesses, one non-doctor unrelated to the patient, must confirm the patients request, and the patient must make a second request after 15 days.
OK... First I want to say, not to go out and kill yourself... It is not what this blog posting is about... I am just saying that if they have terminal disease then they should be able to have that choice... Also, what I say on this is that everyone, healthy or not should have their wishes stated somewhere... Such as Living Wills, Organ Donations, Power of Attorneys and Wills/Trusts which I was told I needed to fill out next week... I don't like doing that, but it has to be done... Oh Well! Nobody knows what tomorrow holds... As far as I know, I could be dead tomorrow and someone needs to know what needs to be done... I have all the music (no organ music), verses, picture (in case someone wants a yucky one on my program), and details...
But remember that whatever you choose to do will affect others and that suicide is not a good option for temporary problems... I do wonder if God makes provisions for those who make this choice when they are not able to think or reason things out... I would be interested in where it says in the Bible that choosing to end your life is a bad thing...
I would like to thank my friend for editing my posts also... Otherwise they would never make any sense... I have been working on this topic for two weeks and for it to go bye bye was not cool...

Sandie, this is Laura!
Can you do me a favor tonight when your sister goes to work? Can you call me? Just want to hear your voice and know that everything is ok with you. If you don't call me, call someone else. Knowing your answer will be that you are OK. I also know you will tell me if I ask you directly.
