Rickey the Bull RIP - Sunday July 31, 2011

As I am typing this up, the owners of Rickey the bull that we have been taking care of is slaughtering him... It reminds me of when I was younger my parents raised farm animals for food... We had this bull named Charlie and we taught him how to fetch sticks and drink Coors Beer... Yeah, I know beer shouldn't be fed to cows... But I was only in the 5th grade... I think it took me the longest time to eat meat and to know that Charlie was gone out of the freezer...

But when we first moved up to this house Ricky was only about 6 months old and way cute... His owner didn't do alot with him so we would take treats out to him... Scott and Jenn would bring treats for him too... He was like a really large puppy around here... The only problem with him is that he would get lonely or afraid of storms and would come up to the house... He didn't know he wasn't allowed in the house... He would look in the house, be on the steps and make himself comfy... He was a people bull...

It was getting time to slaughter him though and we knew this time would come... Because he always broke out of the fence, we had to put him in a smaller pen, which was not cool... He just wanted to play and be with people... He would still get his treats and lovins... So today (Sunday, July 31, 2011) was Ricky's last day... RIP  Ricky

We knew it was time for him to be salughtered but it is still hard since we loved him and his constant escapades. RIP Ricky.
