The Keys to Peace

When we first moved to Utah and started going to St. George Community Church we feel in love with it and the people... I became one of the Deaconesses and Lay Leader there and they gave me a key to the church to do the things I needed to get done... I didn't really think I would need the key for much, but took it anyhow...

I got thinking about the keys last night when I was thinking that now since I don't do the newsletter or the office things that I need to take the keys back to the church... It may seem kind of trivial, but there was many times when I would be having such a hard day or the Dr's would tell me something horrible or just needed some time away and I would go to the church... The lights would be off and nobody was around but God and me... It was like I could really focus or just have a moment of peace at that point... Sometimes it would be 2 or 3 in the morning before I was done taking the time needed to be with God... It has been a long time since doing that... I do/did miss that connection that I feel is lacking these days...

But in a day or two when I get to the church, I will be sure to drop off the keys and will have to look for my other special place if any to find a connection or a sense of peace... I know it sounds kind of  silly to have to go somewhere else to find peace and time away... But it worked for me... Or at least for the most part it did...

Try driving to the temple grounds and sitting there. it is such a peaceful area and if you walk into the grounds and sit on one of the beaches outside you will feel it also.

I think for me the only other place that is a good thinking place is in Snow Canyon... Too far to drive all the way in town...

Sandie, I would have asked them to hold on to the churches key. It is hard to find a place where you can find peace like you described here. For me when I need peace, I go outside and sit under the stars. Everyone needs to have a place where they can find God and find peace. Good luck with that.
