Mother Sued Over Bad Birthday Cards

Oh my goodness, I thought this was just a joke... Steven and Kathryn Miner both in their 20s, sued their mother, Kimberly Garrity, for bad parenting during their formative years, the case has been dismissed. The $500,000 lawsuit accused 55-year-old Garrity of causing her adult kids emotional distress... But this mother was being sued by her adult kids because they are upset because the birthday cards when growing up didn't have money or a check in them. Then the daughter is upset because she didn't get the prom dress she wanted and her mom set a curfew to be home after prom... Holy Cow! The case got thrown out of court, but when reading this all I could think of is how petty and spoiled these kids are... They lived with their dad who is an attorney and I am guessing her must have given them what they wanted... But the son who is in college sued her because she didn't send care packages like the other kids got... It's like OH CRY ME A RIVER... And the mom didn't pay for his college... Maybe we have another Paris Hilton... Spoiled BRAT... What a joke... If you want to read more on it, you can check it out...

Can you imagine how many parents would be sued if you can sue them for every mistake or punishment they are given... I think I would be living in court if that was the case... I would make my daughters go to school, take baths, eat their veggies... Unless they hated them... We had to take things away and I even took my daughter Beckiah's door off the hinges when she kept slamming the door in my face and locking it... There was one time that she was screaming and throwing a fit and instead of hitting her, I sat on her and told her when she could talk and stop throwing a fit, I would let her up, lol That was exhausting... She was in the 10th grade or so when I did that... Jessica could have sued me because I made sure when she went to the prom that she stayed at the prom and I was going to make sure nothing was going to happen afterwards... Jessica also got very upset at me and my husband when we took all her things out of her room but her cloths, bed and dresser... We told her if she wasn't going to clean it, we were going to do that... Wow, was she upset over that, lol... She was kicking and screaming and throwing herself all over the room, lol...  I would go through their lockers at school to make sure they turned in all the homework when I got notices from the teachers and I would make sure that there was no problems between my daughters and their teachers...

I think the judge was right in throwing this out of the courts and hopefully it sends a message to the kids that they are spoiled and they need to earn their own way... Could you even imagine how kids would be if we gave them everything they wanted? Then again, I look around and there are alot of kids getting that... I had this lady that was shopping where I worked at... Her child was around 10 or so... She didn't get what he wanted so there in line he starts yelling at her... She is apologizing to him over and over again... It makes me wonder what happens at home... He was using words a child never should use... I was ticked... We were all talking about how this child needs to be turned over someones knee and spanked... Yepppers... I said the word "Spanked"... I believe in spanking, not beating... Maybe that's what those kids needed that sued their parents... They would have hated to have me as their mom,lol... I think the mom should counter sue, lol...

In Closing... I love my daughters and I would give in alot and I still do... But there comes a time when you have to be the parent... I have made tons of mistakes, but having my daughters will never be one of those mistakes... My choices and how I handle things bothers me... And there are alot of things I would take back and not do...  This picture was around the time that I sat on Beckiah, lol... Now my daughters are adults and have their own kids that they get to be mean mommies too... Wonder if they are going to get sued because they don't give their kids everything they think they should have...



Question: If you are a mom, would you give your child everything they wanted or would you tell them NO?
