I Want To Be A Muse From Xanadu

One of the songs I have on my blog is called Xanadu... If you have never heard it you should and if you have never seen the show you should... The song is sung by Olivia Newton John and she also plays Kira in the show...

The song "I'm Alive by Electric Light Orchestra sets the stage for the show where all of the muses come to life and go out to make dreams come true for humans that are on earth... Can you imagine being a painting on a wall and then the people in the painting coming to life...  The video for the song is below...

This is one of those shows that is about following your dreams and not settling for less... The main characters are Sunny Malone who is a painter and he was painting a cover for a album that was about Nine Sisters... As he is painting the album Kira passes in front of him and she ends up in the picture...

Little does Sunny know that Kira is actually a muse and was sent to earth to help others pursue their dreams and desires... Kira ended up breaking the rules and fell in love with Sunny... Kira is the daughter of Zeus and when she falls in love with Sunny she goes to her parents to see if she can be with Sunny...With the help of Danny McGuire, a man Kira had inspired forty years earlier, Sonny builds a huge disco roller rink.  I won't tell you the ending, but it is way good... This is a show from the 80's and is just one of those shows that makes you believe in following your dreams...

But what I think about in this show, is wouldn't it be great if someone magically appeared and helped us make all our dreams come true... I know that Christ did that for us when He died for our sins... But there is that part of me that thinks it would be awesome to have someone like Kira that you can physically see... It would also be awesome to be the one making those dreams come true... Just imagine how wonderful that would be to be able to make someones life better and then be able to go back to where you came from... Or how life would be if we lived in a musical show that was fun and exciting...

I would love it if things would happen like they do in Xanadu...  You wouldn't be hurt or anything... You can sing and be happy all the time and in two hours it is all over... You have had the whole story line play out and there is no more... At the end all the Muses go back to where they came from and they continue doing whatever their happy little hearts desire and they make other human life's happy and make all their dreams and desires come to life...

Here is a Video from the Show... It is the last 8 minutes of the music with Olivia Newton John and ELO... Love this Show and Song... Listen to the Words... I want to be the muses that are taken up and go to a happier place...

Ahh, being alive. That one word has so many meanings: having life, existing, not dead, active, alert or sensitive to, filled with living things, pay attention, move quickly. All of these come from dictionary.com.

But what I find interesting is that they don't mention "live in the spirit." Even Webster's doesn't. Only the Bible does.

When we are sick, fighting serious disease, or struggling in life, we are very prone to dreaming of a life filled with no sickness or no struggles.

Xanadu the show was filled with lots of wonderful fantasy. It was great for being an uplifting show to view.

Unfortunately we have to live in the real word. But that doesn't mean that we can't experience our own Xanadu. Jesus offers it to us every day.

Would we all love to not have to worry about our health, our bills, our vehicles, or any other problems.

Some of us would love to be able to take away all those worries for others. But we are human, it is not within our realm of abilities.

Don't get me wrong, I am all over dreaming, and hoping, and wishing. Without these things it would be hard to face most days.

Just so long as we don't forget the glorious gifts and grace that God has provided for us. It's not easy to see God's plan for our lives. Most days it seems as if we are in the dark.

So never stop dreaming, or hoping, but always include Jesus in these.

I'm right there beside you sister! Short of being an artist myself, being the inspiration behind or for an artist is the next best thing.
Count me in! ; )
