Just Watched Letters to God

Letters to God was an inspirational movie and sad at the same time... If you haven't seen it, you should watch it. Just make sure you have some Kleenex's because you will need them for sure...

Often we go through our lives complaining about the things we have or don't have. This little boy named Tyler has cancer and is dying. So he writes a letter to God which is actually more of a prayer. I didn't know that this was a true story or I would have bawled even more. This little boy was more worried about others and wanting them to know the real God and to accept Jesus Christ. He knew where he was going and he knew he was very sick. But he didn't let his illness control who he was and what he was going to do. He brought hope to all the lives that he touched and I am sure he will touch many more lives because of this movie...

I can understand where he is coming from in many ways... I don't like to be known as the person who has Myasthenia Gravis or Guillian Barre Syndrome. I would much prefer to have people know that I am Sandie and I am a Christian. I have 2 wonderful daughters,4 of the cutest ever grandsons and have been married for over 30 yrs... I'm not what I have, I am who I am... And this show reminded me of how important it is to spread the word of Christ to everyone and how important it is to not take for granted the people in our lives and the gifts God has given us, no matter how big or small... Your heart will be touched by this movie... If it isn't, then it would surprise me...

If you were going to write a letter to God, what would you say in your letter... I would love to see some responses on this blog... This is what my Letter to God would be;

Dear God,

I was thinking of you today and thought I would drop you a line. How have you been doing? I hope everything is going great for you. Things are going OK for me. I have my issues, but I am sure you know what they are by now. You know me more than I know myself. I can't really fool you since you know how I feel on things. I would like to invite you to come for dinner when you are in town. I know you get super busy with all the prayers of others and such. We will be sure to prepare a meal fit for a King. Let me know if you have any food allergies, that way I will be sure you can enjoy all the yummy foods. You are welcome anytime, you are more than a guest, you are family. However, I am going to close now and send this letter off to you... Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday...

P.S. Tell everyone hey for me that is there with you. tell Grandma and Grandpa I miss them. If you see Mom and Dad Divan can you tell them hi for me too and I miss our outings at the Chinese Restaurant. I know in my heart that my dogs are there, can you tell Brandie and Mattie they are in my thoughts and to be have and not make a mess of things.

Love, Your Daughter, Sandie

How Do We Know

I was thinking about this today and at random think about this.

You know how when people die and it's a couple. Most of the time people say that they are in a better place and now they are together. But how do we know this for sure. For instance I am thinking about two people in general withot mentioning names..

Husband- He loved his wife, but he wasn't a man of God and I don't beleive he was ever baptised. He never really proclaimed that Jesus was his Lord and Savior. He was a good man, but being good doesn't get you to heaven.

Wife- I know she was a good women, but also a woman of God. She was a praying person and a forgiving person and loved God with all her heart.

When they died, many would say that they are no longer suffering and are together in eternity. But when I think about that, I think about how misguided that is. If a person isn't saved and know Jesus Christ, there is no life together in heaven. Which is sad when you think about it. When it is someone you love, you want them to be there with you and you don't want them to be eternally seperated from God. What a horrible thought that is to me and should be to anyone...

Then there is this other lady that I knew. She died, and was very much into the new age thing. She knew Jesus as a great teacher, but that is about it. Sometimes being too educated doesn't make you smart and it doesn't save you. I dedicated a church hymnal to her, and when I open hers up. I can't help but wonder where her heart really was before she died and where she is spending eternity.

Everytime I hear someone say they are in a better place, I always wonder if they are in denial about the person or what. Only by the grace of God can a person be together in heaven. But this is my thought for the day and night as we go into Sunday and talking about the End of Days... Hmmm, what a coincidence, or is it?

One other thought, or maybe it is a desire... I wonder if my dogs are going to be in heaven. I hope so. I am looking forward to seeing my Brandie Muffins

Back to work... Well somewhat :)

I finally got one of my Drs to sign my medical release to go to work. Which is nice. I have missed going to work. It gives me something to do that is outside of my own world and focus on something else. When my daughters were growing up, I was always on the run and didn't work because I needed or wanted to do the mom thing.

But yesterday started off on a more then horrible note when Mickey died (My daughters dog). But he died, and Jason buried him at thier house and put his favorite toy and collar in the grave. I feel so bad for her. I can feel for her. When I lost Brandie, I thought my world was gonna end. I still have Brandie on my phone and I think of her probably every day and pray that there is a doggie heaven. I don't see how there can't be one. Animals love us unconditionally and know when we are upset and mourn as well. How can they not have a place in heaven. I hope that my Brandie is waiting for me when I get to heaven.

But on a less sad note: I did go to work last night. I only worked 5 hours, but it was nice getting back to doing something outside of going to Drs. And I also filled in today for a few hours. Im not sure if they are gonna put me on a scedule or if they are gonna use me as a fill in... But either way, it works.

I am gonna go and I hope everyone has a good night... And as a reminder, go out and vote... Most states are having early voting, so no reason not too.

What Happens Right When We Die???

Even though I am a Christian, I have mixed thoughts on this topic. I have had wonderful dreams about what I call "My Meadow". Well my friend Nancybratt and Donna are there too and we are hanging out by this tree and there are all kinds of animals and you can hear the sound of the brook. I am sure that Heaven is gonna be a a wonderful place that is beyond imagination.

Yesterday I was talking to a friend on the phone about what happens immediately after we die. In the Bible we are led to believe a couple things. One is that we are going to be in a state of sleep. And the other is that we immediatly go to heaven to be with Jesus. I am hoping that we immediatly go to heaven. If we are in a state of sleep, won't it seem like we are going to heaven right away. It won't seem like there is a time lapse at all. We go to sleep and there we are...

Many conservative Christians believe that when a person dies, they enter into complete oblivion - a state of non-existence. They remain unconscious; they have no self-awareness. Their body decays. At the time of the second coming of Jesus, the dead are called from their graves; they will be resurrected and judged.

Some of the other thoughts on life after death are these... I don't really buy into them, because of my faith in Jesus Christ. But I will post them here.

Heaven: Eternity is spent in Heaven or Paradise with God, in a state that is beautiful beyond our ability to conceive.
Hell: Eternity is spent in Hell with Satan and his demons. All are tormented and tortured, in isolation from God, without any hope of mercy or relief.
Annihilation: The body rots. One's soul, spirit, memory, personality, awareness, body, and mind disappear and are no more.
Transmigration of the soul: Our soul and spirit are reborn into a human fetus or newborn child.
Reincarnation: Our soul and spirit are reborn into another living entity - not necessarily human.

What the Bible Says about death is;

All people who are alive on earth at the time of the second coming will be assembled together (Matthew 25:31-32). "Those who have rejected the Lord in this life, who have sinned mortally, who have no remorse for sin and do not seek forgiveness, will have condemned themselves to hell for all eternity."

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live - John 11:25

"The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the
grave and raises up. 1SA 2:6

Luke 43 Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in
paradise."

Revelations 20:12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The
dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

My Personal Thought- Whatever they put in my obituary some day, I hope those words will accurately describe where I will be the moment after I die - safe in Jesus' arms.

Let me add this too.. I don't even want to think of the possibility of reincaration... I just can't imagine coming back as a chicken or goat, lol
