Go to the Place That's the Best

I just opened up my blog to post this message about how I just got my yellow mustang and how it is time for a road-trip... I have been wanting to do that for sometime... I would love to just jump in the car, take my dog Jasper and go anywhere... Not really caring where it is, just go... But then the way I get lost I would end up in some foreign country or something and in lock down or dead... It is a good thought though...Not the lock-down part, lol...  So if someone one day wonders where I am and I have gone missing, don't be shocked... The only problem would be if I forget where I am and others don't know where I am, hmmm that could be a issue for sure... There is no GPS on the car and I have no homing devices... So I guess I would just have to stay lost...

When my daughters were younger, we would all the time just jump in the car and go... We would be gone a few days and go where we wanted... Usually it was to Phoenix or Zion... And since my husband is a truck driver, we could go when we wanted since he wasn't home... But then gas was alot cheaper then...

As I was getting ready to post in here, I have songs that play all the time and the song that came up was "Spirit in the Sky"... That is my favorite song... When I am thinking about this song and how it would be played if and when I died, I was thinking about the road-trip... Is that a sign that something would happen or is it an OK to go on my road-trip... Not sure which it would be... But I know if I go on a road-trip it would be after it cooled off... I have huge issues with the heat and with Myasthenia Gravis, the heat always makes things worse for me muscle wise... I really hate summers because of this...

Back to my favorite son "Spirit in the Sky"... I think the only part in the song that I don't agree with is the highlighted parts... Because I believe we all are sinners and Christ died for us because we are sinners... I posted the video of Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum below the lyrics...

Spirit in the Sky Lyrics

When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best
When I lay me down to die
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
That's where I'm gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best

Prepare yourself you know it's a must
Gotta have a friend in Jesus
So you know that when you die
He's gonna recommend you
To the spirit in the sky
Gonna recommend you
To the spirit in the sky
That's where you're gonna go when you die
When you die and they lay you to rest
You're gonna go to the place that's the best

Never been a sinner I never sinned
I got a friend in Jesus
So you know that when I die
He's gonna set me up with
The spirit in the sky
Oh set me up with the spirit in the sky
That's where I'm gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
I'm gonna go to the place that's the best
Go to the place that's the best

Dark Clouds Disappear! GBS/MG and Jessica

Today I was driving to St. George and noticed these kind of odd clouds that was just ahead of me... I took a couple pictures with my cell phone because they reminded me of how dark things can seem at the moment you are going through them, but then if you look up, there is a bright sky with the light from above shining through. Eventually the dark clouds go away and the sky appears and everything looks different...
Cloud headed into St. George

What got me thinking about this was not just my own issues of medical things and all the other things that come with life. But my daughter Jessica just found out last week that she will be loosing her job and all her employees have to be laid off because Quiznos decided to shut down the corporate stores that they just recently opened on September 30th, 2010... Now they all have to find new jobs when there aren't many out there...

Like these clouds that come in looking scary and may even cause a downpour of water that may ruin your plans... But from that water comes new life and new beginnings... Who knows what will come of these changes and the layoffs? I believe God has a hand in everything that happens and knows what is best for us... Even when we don't understand... Now granted there are many days that I am just not feeling it and not in the mood to hear what God has plans and why I am going through the things I am going through or why He allows me to make the stupid mistakes I seem to make over and over again... But after some time I realize that alot worst things would have happened if I didn't go through them...

For instance with the Guillian Barre Syndrome I got in 1980. I went from being a total fitness freak that loved to run for hours on end and could have even done a marathon to a person that was completely paralyzed and on a ventilator.I ended up getting GBS from the flu shot and within 2 weeks I couldn't walk, talk or even blink my eyes..  I wasn't married at the time, was living with my now husband of 30 years and on top of that I found out I was pregnant and all of this happened when I was 17.  But because of this experience I can say that I have learned alot about compassion and understanding of those with disabilities. That doesn't mean I am happy at all with the residuals I now experience and then in the past few years being diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis and CIPD, which is a form of Gullian Barre Syndrome which can reoccur. There are many medical issues associated with these two issues and because of the problems associated with the GBS and MG the prognosis isn't great... But that never stops me and I am a bit stubborn, you can't let having an illness/disease or whatever prevent you from being the person God intended you to be... As I look back at these experiences I wonder what kind of person I would have been if I didn't have these illnesses... I don't think I would have wanted to sign up for any of these problems,  because of the GBS and Myasthenia I was never able to smoke because of the breathing problems, I wasn't able to really party because I got too tired. So I was saved from a life of partying and smoking when alot of my family seems to be involved in that lifestyle...

Back to Jessica, changes and dark times... I know that God is going to open doors for all the employees of Quiznos if they allow Him to do so... I know that Jessica will find a job where she can spend quality time with her family while still earning a living... I know that all the rest will have some awesome doors open for them... How do I know this many may wonder? I know it sounds weird, but during my drive into town, it was like God was saying that they will all be OK and all things are working for His glory... Just after my cloud went away I got a call from Jessica and she was telling me how she wanted to do this Beth Moore study of John and how our pastors wife is going to help and she is setting the ground work for it... Jessica and I purchased this study over a year ago and now is the right timing for it...  Then I walked into a place that I needed to pay a bill at and asked them randomly if they were hiring and talking to them about Jess... She has a interview with them tomorrow afternoon and they are closed on Sundays so she can be at church and with family...

Things may seem bleak and people live, die and go through problems... But when you trust in God, you know that there is someone looking out for your best interest and even if you made many mistakes like I did... God turned those mistakes into wonderful things... Alot of 17 year olds when they find out they are pregnant and not married will abort the baby... I never thought of this option and although I know many who have... God uses all of our mistakes and turns them into blessings if we let him...I'm sure many are wondering how I got all of this out of a cloud, lol... I wonder that myself... Maybe sometime you should go outside and watch the clouds, stars or whatever and listen to what God is telling you...

40 Days of Fasting... HMMM

Today was a pretty decent day for the most part... My sister and I went into town and spent a few hours there. We picked up things for my Taco Party tomorrow night... She was talking to her boyfriend tonight on my phone and was telling him how she just doesn't feel there is a place for her... She doesn't really fit in anywhere... She also told him that out of everyone atleast she is in a more positive place and where people care about her... I wonder how that must be... To not really feel like you belong anywhere and that you aren't wanted by anyone. Now granted she gets a bit pushy, well, alot pushy... But I can't help but feel bad for her and I try to have patience and understanding.

My sister has gone through alot in the past and made some not so good choices. But no matter what she is still my sister and I won't turn my back on her. I just hope and pray that one day she understands that life can be so much better. I get short tempered with her and those around me alot during this time of year... I just don't feel good and have issues with the Mysathenia and the effects of Gullian Barre Syndrome. It's no excuse to be cranky all the time... But that is how it seems to be lately. Little things set me off big time and I am thinking there are times I want to just go out on a 40 day fast and just not say anything to anyone and just go... But then that would be a whole other set of problems I guess. I would be posted on nancy grace and the headlines would say 'Cranky Woman from St. George goes on 40 day Fast" More at 11... So maybe that isn't the right thing to do... And then as I am typing this, a stinking flying ant comes at me and bites my leg. Whats up with that?

But, I am going to go to bed and wonder about what it is in my prayer life that I am doing wrong...

Got a Membership At Golds Gym

What the heck am I thinking? Physically I can't do alot of the exercises and machines over there. But I was think that it would be a great opportunity to spend time with family. We all go together. I can use the treadmill for a very short period of time. But I can use the pool, which is a plus and the sauna. So I basically do those things.

Alotof people have a hard time understanding with Myasthenia Gravis which is a form of Muscular Dystrophy, that you don't over do the muscles. You just try to keep them from not working. But the pool is good.

My daughter Beckiah won a free membership from Golds, my niece Bridgette joined last night and my brother in law and myself joined last week. When my daughter Jessica gets here, we are going to get her involved as well. Not sure she is gonna like that. But we will see. I'm sure she will have fun or at least fun getting in better shape. I will post any updates on what is going on with that. If I loose more weight from that, that would be awesome :).

I have a big problem though. I am extremely competitive and get a bit obsessed with things. If I am paying for something, I will use it for sure. And then I have to coordinate my times, so I'm not working out all the time. I think I will see about picking Craig and Beckiah up around 5, so then we can all go at one time. Even if we are doing different things, that is OK too.

Oh, and the most important thing right now, is that that Golds Gym has TV's that are attached to some of the things and I won't miss American Idol... What a great concept that is, lol

Went to Lunch with my not so Secret Sister

Today Shirley and I went out to lunch to Ernesto's. Shirley had my name at church for our Secret Sister program. It was a nice day and it was nice getting to talk to her without all the other stuff going on. At church you can somewhat talk to people. But it is hard to really know them when its small talk. Today was the first time I went out with just her and I would have to say I should do it again.

Shirley is an interesting person and we have alot in common. She has a family member that has Myasthenia Gravis and Guillian Barre Syndrome. I thought that was odd, because most people never hear of those two and she knows about them both. Is that weird or what. But it is nice when someone knows what you are talking about and they don't give you that cockeyed look on their face when you say something. There are some that do that you know.

ON a different note, my friend at work lost her husband. I feel so bad for Char. He had kidney failure. I guess what actually killed him was a massive heart attack. Char knew he was going to eventually pass away and be with God. But I think this is something nobody is ready for. He wasn't that old and had two daughters. One is a teenager and the other is like 11 or so. My thoughts and prayers go out to them during this difficult time.

I amy post something later. I'm not sure yet... Oh BTW, someone gave me this idea to do a blog on local restaurants. We go out alot, so I think I will think about that...

Count Your Blessings

You know there are many days that I can honestly say that I want to complain about everything and things just aren't right. But then I look around and hear about the missionaries at our church and the conditions theylive in and worship God in. We get upset when the temperature is too warm or the music isn't fast enough or slow enough, depending on your favorite music.

I have learned along time ago when I got Guillian Barre Syndrome and now Myasthenia Gravis and other things, yet things can be worse. My favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:1 and that says that God is our refuge and strength and ever present in times of trouble. How awesome is that promise when we really think about it. Can you imagine what life would be like if Jesus didn't die for us and if we had no hope at all. I feel so bad for those who think this eartly body we have is the end. Tonight I was surfing the blogs for the first time since starting mine up. Which that has been sometime. But I never really thought about what others were writing about in thiers and what was going on half way around the world. I think that is awesome too when you think we can talk to people that we would never get a chance to meet if it wasn't for the internet. It is interesting to listen to peoples different views. Although I have to say that my brain has no room for those that are into Satanic crud.

Back to blessings. Although I have alot of medical things going on and by many Drs thoughts I shouldn't be here, but I am. I am very blessed. God has given me wonderful kids and grandkids. Even though I told them no grandkids till I had grey hair. Hmmmm, they didn't listen. But how can you not love the little guys and if Jessica and Beckiah are reading this, you need to work on a GIRL,lol. I have been blessed everyday when I wake up, even when it is on the wrong side of the bed. Which that happens often when I don't get my sleep, ughhh. Ask anyone around me, lol. God has provided for us by giving us wonderful friends, and for the most part wonderful family, my sweet pets and allergies. You may be wondering why allergies. Well, the reason is, I am allergic to cigarette smoke and most things that are bad for you. So I can't smoke or drink. There are times I tell my Drs though that I should take up a bad habit so I can justify all the stuff going on with my body, lol. They don't see the humor in that :). Count your blessings, I bet you have many that you didn't consider! If you can't think of anything, think about the computer you are typing on and all the lives you are reaching because of this wonderful technology. Well most times that is, lol. When it gets a virus, I might think otherwise... But Im gonna close tonight and I pray that everyone has a good nights sleep and if you are on the other side of the world. I pray you have a great day.
